Question: Can I use Marketing Engineering for Excel with a Mac computer?
Answer: Our software is not designed to work with the
Mac version of Microsoft Office. You will need a Windows version of
Office to use Marketing Engineering for Excel. If you are a Mac user,
we recommend trying the following options in order to use Microsoft
Excel for Windows on your Mac computer.
- Install
a version of the Windows OS on your Mac
- You
will need a Windows license for any of these options.
- Your
school may have a license to provide Microsoft products to you at no
charge. Check with you computer center for details.
- Microsoft
offers several discounts to students for Windows OS. You may find
details on how to obtain free (check to see if your school is enrolled
in MSDN AA) or discounted student pricing on Microsoft's website: http://www.microsoft.com/student/en/us/software/windows-7.aspx
- You
will need to create a Windows Virtual Machine on your Mac. There are
several ways to do this:
- Boot
Camp from Apple - Mac Intel systems include the Boot Camp Option which
will allow you to boot your Mac computer to a Windows OS. (http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/)
- VirtualBox - free
virtual machine software from Sun that will allow you to run Windows at
the same time as your Mac OS. (www.virtualbox.org)
- Parallels or VMWare
Fusion - virtual machine software that will allow you to run Windows at
the same time as your Mac OS. (student discounts can be found at www.onthehub.com/)
- Install Microsoft
Office for Windows
- Your
school may have a license to provide Microsoft products to you at no
charge. Check with you computer center for details.
- Microsoft offers
several discounts to students for Office (http://www.microsoft.com/student/en/us/software/office-2007.aspx)
- Microsoft offers a
free 60 day trial of its latest Office products.
